Programma (voorlopig): The idea of my programme proposal is about performing 3 different piano sonatas from the perspective of the origin of the composer, the styles, and the characteristic of the composition itself.
The first piano sonata is from the earliest and well-known classical piano sonata composer, Joseph Haydn with the conservative German classical style. This sonata is the biggest and one of the latest works from his piano sonata which is inspired by the invention of the English piano, that is why it is compiled as one of the ‘Drei Englische Sonaten’
The second piano sonata is from Russian composer, Nikolai Medtner. In this sonata which has a fairy-tale introduction and many dramatic moments, we can hear the polyphonic and many counterpoints as Medtner himself inspired a lot by Bach and Beethoven. Being ‘less recognized’ composer comparing to his colleagues Rachmaninov or Scriabin, Medtner has composed many beautiful unknown piano works.
The last piano sonata is composed by Indonesian composer, Jaya Suprana who is still alive actively composing. In this sonata we can hear interesting pentatonic melodies from Java and Sunda with Indonesian nuances: the traditional ceremony, dance, etc. He was inspired a lot by the pentatonic scales, Indonesian traditional instrument (for instance: gamelan or kendang/percussive dance instrument).
Biografie:
Felix Justin werd geboren in Surabaja, Indonesië. Nadat hij zijn studie tot apotheker had afgerond in Surabaya, besloot Felix zijn droom na te jagen om professioneel musicus te worden door in Nederland zijn conservatoriumopleiding voort te zetten. Hij heeft zijn bachelor- en masterstudie cum laude aan het Conservatorium in Utrecht bij Henry Kelder behaald.
Felix won de aanmoedigingsprijs van de EMIR Steyenbergprijs en hij werd ook gekozen als vertegenwoordiger van HKU naar Showa Music Universiteit, Japan. In 2015 won Felix de eerste prijs in Vlaamse Vrienden van Cultuurprijs piano wedstrijd in Tilburg. Hij kreeg een beurs van ERASMUS Plus voor een jaar studie in het buitenland. Daarom wisselde hij van 2015 tot 2016 in Royal College of Music, Londen en Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität, Wenen uit. Felix nam deel aan masterclasses van o.a. Daniël Wayenberg, Barbara Grajewska, Elisabeth Leonskaja, John Lill, en Klára Würtz.
In 2016 trad Felix op voor Koningin Maxima en de Belgische koningin Mathilde tijdens hun gezamenlijke bezoek aan Utrecht. Als een solist, speelde hij in verschillende concerten binnen- en buitenland, zoals in Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, Stadschouwburg Tilburg, Gedung Kesenian Jakarta Indonesië, Goethe Haus Bangkok en Kolarac Hall Belgrado, Servië. Zijn interesse in muziek brengt hem ertoe te werken met zangers, koren en in kamermuziek. Vanaf 2006 begeleidde hij verschillende koren in diensten en concerten. Felix heeft zich verdiept in het het begeleiden van liederen en opera, en kreeg daarin masterclasses van Rudolf Jansen, Hans Eijsackers, Maurice Lammerts van Bueren, en Jan Paul Grijpink. Sinds 2014 vormen Felix en Satriya Krisna (tenor) een Samsakta Duo en ze wonnen de derde prijs, publiekprijs, en jong juryprijs in International Student Lied Duo Concours 2017. Hij gaf ook verschillende concerten met de zangers en zangeressen, zoals in Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, Stopera Amsterdam, De Doelen Rotterdam, en Hermitage Amsterdam.
